Pamela Kostmayer was born in Baltimore, MD/ She attended the Maryland Institute College of Art where she majored in interior design and, subsequently, opened her own interior design firm. After eighteen years, she phased out of her business to study drawing and painting at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington DC and the Mitchell School of Fine Art in Baltimore, MD. Pamela was attracted to the rigors and style of the classical manner, and as part of her continuing education, attends yearly workshops with such artists as David Leffel, Sheri McGraw, Robert Johnson, Jean Chambers, and Sarah Lamb. Their works are part of her inspiration.
